Part 1 (duration 1h): Created in 1974 by Marc Chagall, the stained glass windows of the axial chapel of Reims Cathedral continue the renewal of sacred art that began in the 1950s.
As in Metz, Chagall called on his friend Charles Marq.Travel by bus, with our guide (transport ticket included) to the Simon-Marq studio (1/2h).2nd part (duration 1h): Founded in Reims in 1640 and now located in the Sacré-Coeur church in Reims, the Simon-Marq master glassmakers' workshop has a unique know-how in creation and restoration that has been passed on from generation to generation ever since.
Known worldwide for its collaborations with renowned contemporary artists such as Marc Chagall, the Simon-Marq workshop also perpetuates its mission of safeguarding heritage by reviving the colours of old stained glass windows, for both religious and civil stained glass.
