I booked this tour last minute and it was one of the few big houses open in epernay on a Monday in March. The tour guide was easy to hear/understand with an energic personality. We learned the process of champagne making so it was a very informative first champagne tour with two good size tastings afterwards

Nous avons eu la chance de faire une visite de cave au sein de la maison de champagne Boizel, et c’était tout simplement exceptionnel. L’accueil était chaleureux, le guide passionné et très compétent, et les caves historiques absolument magnifiques. Chaque étape du processus de fabrication nous a été expliquée avec clarté et enthousiasme. La dégustation finale a été le point d’orgue : des champagnes raffinés, élégants et parfaitement équilibrés.

Ce qui nous a particulièrement plu, c’est l’ambiance familiale et authentique qui règne chez Boizel — une vraie différence par rapport à d’autres grandes maisons de champagne. On sent que l’histoire et la passion sont au cœur de leur savoir-faire.

The tour was very nice and included both a very nice tour in the cellar as well in the elaboration rooms.
Our guide, who was coming from this region, was very nice and kind and open to questions.
The only thing we lacked a bit was a guide that would be more familiar with the more technical and scientific sides of the production.

We really enjoyed the champagne during the tasting. The tasting room and material is well thought, but there was no guided part of the tasting, even though we did have enough time to remain in the tasting room.

It was very easy to make the reservation and we always had fast reponses to our questions before the event.

I visited alone & left my husband and kids behind. My tour was on Monday at 4pm. It was very informative, welcoming and our tour guide ( I forget her name now) was wonderful! So clear and just had a great way of explaining everything. Also very friendly and open too. The tastings were great and I left knowing a lot more about the detail in the process of making champagne; a whole new appreciation and love for it.

I did like the experience. Ehile the guided tour has been great and I would not have changed nothing, I would have appreciated a more guided assistance during the tasting part. It would have been more valuable to have a deep description of the wine and a more interactive discussion about the flavours and the sensations

What a lovely tour of a smaller family owned champagne house. Our guide was very informative and the champagne from the house was elegant and sophisticated. We would recommend to friends.

The tour of the cellars is special, especially seeing all the old original bottles. I’d recommend this tour if you’d like a visit with some heart and is more intimate than some of the bigger champagne houses.

It's a very classy, independent house of champage with a tremendous legacy (still family owned, 5th generation). The tour was very relaxed, private (11 ppl only) and informative. Cellars are very beautiful. I do recommend to visit.

Four of us visited on Sunday 13 July - Thai (splg?) was our guide and was obviously very knowledgeable - really informative and enjoyable visit and of course the champagne was delicious. Very nice to visit a family run house where the brothers still carry out all the blending. We weren't rushed but sat in the tasting room enjoying the lovely room and the wine. Would definitely recommend.

Very informative and more detailed compared to other tours. Interesting seeing the equipment used and explaining the process and grape selection etc, plus the history and ethics of the company. Excellent guide. I would definitely recommend this tour on an itinerary, a change from the larger champagne houses, a couple of which we found a little pretentious, funnily owned by the same group who give the same experience selling handbags. Bought a couple of bottles after tasting and the guide kindly located a stockist in the Uk. Best tour of our trip.

Nice and welcoming staff, high competence who guided that impressive venue for champagne production and storing. Tasting was nice, high quality Champagne was served and presented with kindness and knowledge . For guidings at the villages we paid half of the price and learned as much as here, champagne quality was really not ”halfprice”. So you pay for the brand and the high reputation of the house.
Considering that, I recommand this activity.

Nous n'avons pas pu faire le dégustation. Nous avons eu 15 minutes du retard. Or nous avons appelé et prévenu le personnel qui en retour nous a dit que ce n'est pas grave. Par contre en arrivant on n'étais pas accepté.

Waarna ze aanboodt om in de shop met haar nederlandstalige collega te praten. Deze was niet vriendelijk, deed nogal uit hautain en vertelde tegenstrijdige info van wat we begrepen hadden van de Franstalige gids.

We visited Boizel in 2024 and enjoyed it so much we decided to return with some friends. We all enjoyed it hugely. Most of their champagne is produced and cellared on site so it offers an opportunity to see the whole production life cycle. We particularly liked viewing very old vintages. Our guide was excellent and added hugely to our knowledge. I cannot recommend this visit highly enough.

Makkelijk om on line een rondleiding te boeken. Ik heb al meerdere rondleidingen gedaan in Epernay en deze beviel uitstekend. Een kleine groep mensen (10), met een uitstekend Engels sprekende gids, die het hele champagne proces in begrijpbare taal uitlegde en dit op een luchtige manier bracht. De proeverij daarna in een aparte zaal met notitie kaartjes en een mooie display van de champagnes. Daarna nog een mogelijkheid om met onze eigen groep apart een extra proeverij te doen. En ook belangrijk de champagne was erg lekker.

It was Nice to take a sneak peak in the rooms and the cellar. The tour was a bit long and not so vibrant, the cellar was smaller then the neigbours. The tasting was not detailed. Would not recommend.

Client Boizel depuis plusieurs années j’ai été déçu par cette visite. La guide maîtrisait mal l’anglais et n’avait pas de réponse aux questions. On voit peu de choses interessantes qui permettent d’entretenir la magie du champagne et n’incite pas à acheter .

Nous avons donc décidé de visiter les caves.
Excellent accueil, guide (d'origine guyanaise) très sympathique qui prenait son temps pour répondre aux diverses questions.
Présentation de la dégustation dans une salle de réception au lieu d'un bar ordinaire dans la plupart d'autres caves.

We really enjoyed our guided tour in English. Everything was very well explained. There was enough time for questions and the groups wasn't too big.
The final tasting in a separate room was great, as were the two champagnes included.
I also liked the possibility to choose different champagnes for the tasting.

Very interesting to see behind the and scenes and see the production team at work. Also to understand the heritage of the champagne house and their objectives. However once the champagne had been poured out and we were given a brief overview, we were left to ourselves with no-one on hand to chat to.

The cellar is small but nice. The guide was very knowledgable, informative, good to understand, clear, and to the point. Very well done. One of the best visits so far, and not so touristy. And Boizel is anyway one of the best champagnes.

We really enjoyed our tour of the cellars on the 5th July. The tour host was fantastic and gave us some great information on the local area, soils, process and history of the house. The cellars were fabulous and the tour was small and personal, with lots of time for questions. Really enjoyed the tasting at the end and stopped at the house for a little longer to enjoy another bottle. We would highly recommend this tour and look forward to visiting again next year.

Very informative and interesting experience. Tasting of two campaigns is a great ending to the tour.

Not sure how this tour was much different from the others I went on. Guide was friendly but I wish she had gotten into the specifics of the Boizel experience. A bit general. I had already heard about five times how champagne is made. Tasting was good but host would not pour any more than two glasses. Not the best bargain for 40 euros in my view.

We enjoyed a wonderful tour and tasting at Boizel. Our guide, Amie, was a wonderful host sharing the history of Boizel in a delightful engaging manner. She answered all of our questions and went out of her way to get answers if she did not know the answer herself. We were especially pleased to be introduced to some lovely champagnes that we were not previously familiar with. We will definitely try to find Boizel champagnes at our local wine shops in America. We highly recommend visiting this family owned and operated champagne house in Epernay.

Very easy to book, prompt start time, informative tour with 2 champagnes to taste at the end.

We would not recommend this as a place to visit. The staff lacked knowledge, the tasting, your glasses were filled and then you were just left in a room. If you have a person not drinking they charge you for the alcohol. If you query this they lie and tell you it is the law. Which on further investigation you discover this is not true. It is all about the money to them. Much better Houses to visit. Aggressive management!!

Emma was a wonderful tour guide, had so much information to share and we learned a lot. It was a small group of 4 so it really felt so personalized and we loved the other couple in our group which made it such an enjoyable experience. It was a beautiful property and the champagnes were absolutely wonderful. Would definitely come back for another visit!

This was an excellent tour and explanation about the making of champagne. We visited various cellars and finished tasting two different champagnes

We got the train from Reims and had a coffee at a local cafe and then had a leisurely walk up the Av. de Champagne, which is only a short walk from the train station, until we reached Boizel, which sits in a prominent position at the top end of the Av.

We were warmly welcomed and had time to look around the gift shop, take photos and take in the feel of the champagne house before the tour.

The tour guide was friendly and we felt she was genuinely passionate about Boizel. The tour was interesting and we were talked through the region and areas where the champagne house gets its grapes.

The tour felt quite personal. It had the feel of a family run business who wanted to show off what their hard work and 6 generations had achieved.
When we had the tastings we were given a good measure of each champagne, with an information card and pencil to make our own notes.

We would highly recommend this tour. The champagne was amazing ( we bought a bottle), friendly welcoming staff, a personal feel, located on the famous Av.de Champagne and we learnt about the region and the Boizel family.
The Millesime experience was excellent value.

We left with such a good feeling we agreed will be buying Boizel Champagne from now on.

We booked the tasting of 2 of their signature champagnes. We ending up having a private tour due to the wintertime in which we visited! We learned all about the champagne process and had a tour of the cellars. Very informative host. We then went to the tasting room and enjoyed their champagne. Highly recommend this experience!

I would highly recommend taking this tour! I have now taken it for the second time (always together with „new to the champagne region“ friends) because it’s the most comprehensible, complete and friendly tour. Never had a guide who was not knowledgeable or customer friendly. Each Lady adjusted very professionally to the group/champagne knowledge of the group with ease. Last but not least: the star is never the less the champagne.

This was our (my wife and I) second visit to Champagne Boizel but the first time we did a cellar tour and tasting at the house. The visit was timely, informative and adaptive to the groups speed and engagement. The tour was expansive and showed off both the house style and passion for winemaking but also the ingenituitive approaches that Boizel is taking for continued growth into the future.

I would highly recommend the Millesime visit for those who are looking to explore both house styles and vintage champagne in a non threatening, fun and engaging environment.

This champagne house was fantastic! We visited other houses like Moët and Mercier and even though Boizel is smaller it definitely had the most enjoyable and informative tour. They did a great job of reaching the process and as well as showing the history. Other big names that you hear sold their houses and so don’t seem as authentic in my opinion where as the people at Boizel had a special charm to it. Would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed the explanation of the history and process that has made the Boizel name it is today. The guide was really knowledgable and kept the tour engaged.
We originally could only book one ticket online but the staff were really accommodating opening up another pace when arrived as we were a couple.

We zijn hier met een grote groep geweest. Via e-mail was alles vooraf afgestemd. Vanaf ontvangst tot afscheid was het uitstekend verzorgd. Hierbij natuurlijk kennis mogen maken met het gehele productieproces en de geschiedenis van Boizel. Wat is dit een mooi familiebedrijf en wat een heerlijke champagnes produceren ze, een echte aanrader !!

Small group tour was excellent and far superior to some of the larger houses where the groups were large, you could not hear the guide and groups were moving all around our tour group. This was exclusive, easy to hear and interesting to hear about the house itself.

Very informative guide who was very friendly and welcoming. The tour was very interesting and great to see the very extensive cellars. The champagne tasting was also great and the champagnes we tried were very nice.

Overall, we had high hopes for the champagne region. When we saw that there was 1 street with only champagne houses, it was a slight disappointment as we did not see a single grape vine either. The lady from whom we got the tour spoke English and knew her word. You could only ask her a question and she wouldn't know the answer. For us a disappointing visit, we also felt the price-quality ratio was not up to par.

Lara répondait avec plaisir à nos différentes questions et connaissait très bien son sujet. Nous aurions aimé que la dégustation soit un peu plus guidée (quelles sont les odeurs, les saveurs, pour quelles raisons, …) mais c’était déjà super.

De plus la visite était bien personnalisés avec l'histoire de la maison Boizel et les choix techniques effectué par les propriétaires afin d'obtenir le caractères du champagne Boizel.
La dégustation s'est très bien déroulé et les verres servis étaient généreux. Je recommande cette visite.

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'expérience: de la guide, en passant par l'établissement, les explications ainsi que la dégustation, tout était à la hauteur voire plus haut qu'attendu. Boizel fut une magnifique découverte. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir!

The group was a good size. The lady with the Brazilian name who guided us was excellent. Everyone increased their knowledge about the history and process of making Champagne. At the close we tasted two excellent Champagnes in a beautiful room , seated at immaculate tables laid with white linen. Each group had their own table, which contrasts with a previous tour to a very well known house a few doors down, who made us stand in a crowded noisy room while tasting and being rushed out.

In Boizel we were treated like very special guests.

My travel partner and I were delayed nearly 5 hours due to an obstruction on the train route to Epernay and were not able to make our scheduled tour. I called from the train station and explained our circumstances and our reservations were moved to the following day at no charge.

When we arrived for our tour, our guide was welcoming and friendly, and incredibly informative. The tour itself was fascinating and included lots of detail about the Boizel family and the champagne production process. The tasting portion of the tour took place in a beautiful room and the champagne itself was of very high quality. It was obvious they are very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. I highly recommend the Maison de Boizel tasting tours.

The tour at boizel was very pleasant. Great to see the facilities and cellar of such a large champagne house. Keep in mind that the tour is less intimate when compared to a smaller champagne house and a bigger group of people taking the tour. But nevertheless a fun experience!

The visit to this family run champagne house was easy to book online and was recommended to us by friends. Lara was very knowledgeable and gave us a greater understanding of the complexities involved in creating the perfect bottle of champagne. The caves were fascinating and so interesting to see the history of such an established producer. The tastings of the 2 champagnes were enlightening, so different. Would thoroughly recommend a visit!

Our guide was extremely informative and helpful. It was clear that she was very knowledgeable about the subject. She also provided us with restaurant recommendations for lunch. I appreciate the fact that this company is family owned and operated.

We loved our time at Boizel. The tour was informative, light hearted, personal, and fun. Boizel had a very intimate setting and I love that it is still a Champagne house run by the family. We would definitely recommend and will come back someday.

It was very cool (literally and figuratively) to visit the cellars, especially to see the very old bottles of champagne stored there. The tasting was a nice benefit. Very interesting guided tour. We had Diane as a guide, she's very sympathetic and guides in a enthousiastic and very understandable way.

Went very smoothly. The old champagnes and history were particularly fun.

An honest feedback. My friend and I struggled to make it on time for our slot at 4:00 pm. We had multiple problems with the car that we rented and we were aware that we would not be able to make it in time for our reservation. So we called Boizel an hour before 4 pm and asked if we could be put on a later slot because we really wanted to see the cellars. The staff member on the phone said we could try but with no guarantees. We still made the trip and arrived at Boizel's around 5:30 pm.

We were greeted by one of the staff members Leire, a lovely lady, and she explained that we could not be put on the next group cause it was full, but she could do a champagne tasting for us instead on their terrace. Of this, we asked if we could get our money back as we were more interested to see the cellars. Seeing that we already paid for this service, we could only assume that there was ZERO cost of sale on Boizel's part since we were refused the total experience (i.e, cellar tours, etc.). But, she mentioned that Boizel doesn't do any refunds or even rebookings.

To our literal surprise. But the staff member Leire once again reiterated that this was communicated to us via the Terms & Conditions upon purchasing of tickets -- (We did not see any lengthy T&Cs by the way).

So to our disappointment, we sadly settled for the champagne tasting because we were already there anyways. We should've asked for the Terms & Conditions in fine print because when we went back to our hotel and checked your website again, it CLEARLY STATES that we can in fact get our money back. We just don't understand why the staff member Leire gave us the wrong information. We really would've opted out and asked for our money back. But she insisted that we couldn't do that.

We honestly felt like we were manipulated into accepting a LOWER EXPERIENCE WHILE PAYING THE FULL PRICE. When Boizel could have just refunded us the money for us to experience the champagne region in other ways. Moving forward, we hope you could be more transparent to your willing guests. We understand that we were late, yes. But you absolutely could've been more gracious by adding us to the next group or offer us the option to get our money back.

Booked this cellar tour and tasting to fill some time on Easter Sunday en route to Calais. Very slick, professional outfit. Charming guide who shared some interesting info. Generous glasses of champagne to try. Still quite expensive when including drinks for the kids. Could have included something for them in the price.

We had an amazing morning at House Boizel with a really interesting tour followed by a delicious tasting. Our guide, Maxim, was very knowledgable, engaging and helped to make the experience all the more enjoyable. Having been on other tours in the area we would rate Boizel the highest, both for content of the experience and value for money. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Epernay and look forward to returning soon!

Visite des caves situées sous le bâtiment de la maison Boizel sur la célèbre avenue de Champagne à Épernay, suivie d'une dégustation de deux champagnes.
Intéressant pour une première visite de ce type. La guide était compétente et sympathique et la visite en petit groupe (8 personnes) permet de facilement poser des questions et entamer le dialogue.
Un peu court malgré tout. La visite inclut forcément la dégustation, ce qui renchérit le prix. Manque un petit biscuit rose de Reims en accompagnement, car le champagne en milieu d'après-midi avec le ventre vide, ça peut être un peu traitre.

Excellent visit of the Boizel cellars. The tour was conducted in English and the tour guide had excellent knowledge and was passionate. The group was small which made the visit very enjoyable. Not an enormous cave, but still well worth visiting one of the smaller Champagne houses. The tasting was great - and we came away with a few boxes!

The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The cellars were interesting and we were given plenty of opportunity to linger and ask questions. The tasting room was smart and the champagne delicious! We appreciated the colouring given to the children, but it would have been lovely if they had been offered some juice while the adults had their champagne.

We had a very interesting and fun tour. Jules was very informative and humorous. The tasting was good too. We liked at other tours but this one seemed more personal.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis à la Maison Boizel. Notre visite des caves et dégustation furent très instructives et plaisantes grâce à notre guide, Jules, très érudit et plein d'humour. La dégustation dans un petit salon était un vrai plus aussi.

Visite intéressante due à la compétence de la jeune femme qui assurait les commentaires avec humour. La dégustation était conforme à mes attentes car étant ´´amis de Boizel’´ J’ai retrouvé les champagnes que je connaissais.
Un seul regret : Je pensais que les amis de Boizel bénéficieraient d’un petit privilège mais il n’en est rien. Donc il me semble que vous devriez méditer un peu sur ce sujet.

I contacted Champagne Boizel by email to book for a group of eight people. The responses were very quick and I eventually booked the tickets online, which was easy to do. They were also very accommodating when I had to book an additional ticket at the last minute. We arrived rather early, but could wait in the courtyard seating area and they brought out water for us, which was very considerate. Our hostess, Alena, was so lovely and knowledgeable - in fact, everyone was extremely friendly. It was fascinating to learn about a true family business and the champagne tasting, with cards for tasting notes, was excellent. We all came away having bought bottles of the two champagnes we tried. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Champagne Boizel.

Great experience, very interesting and wonderful champagne but also our host showed a lot of enthousiasme and had a lot of knowledge about champagne and the historic of the house. We really enjoyed it.

La réservation s'est déroulée sans problème et nous avons forcement apprécié l’ explication et l’expertise de notre guide qui était super sympa. Le champagne était ecxellent et maintenant nous savons comment servir le champagne au meilleur. Sans doute nous recommanderons le tour à nos amis.

The tour and tasting was great, with the guide giving us loads of information that we did not know. The cellar tour is also very nicely done with the cellars well laid out to show the process of making champagne.

Très belle visite, complète et menée par une guide enjouée, souriante avec une pointe d'humour qui rythme bien le parcours. L'élaboration du champagne est bien expliquée. Un léger manque d'approfondissement en dégustation mais peut-être est-ce une déformation professionnelle de ma part. Je recommanderai la visite de votre Maison en pro comme en perso.

We had such a great tour - they had to rearrange it due to and unexpected event, but were extremely accommodating of our schedules to make it work. We ended up on our own private tour and it was simply the best tour on the avenue. We got to see everything and the tour guide answered all of our many questions. Highly recommend!

Belle visite au sein des caves familiales! 45 minutes de visite qui passent très vite, petit moment théorique mais pas tiré en longueur, la guide française est vraiment agréable et amène tout en légèreté. Très ouverte aux diverses questions, explique les différentes techniques utilisées et les projets futurs de la maison.
Nous avons apprécié également l'endroit qui est très joli. Le parking au sein de la maison est très pratique également.

La possibilité de choisir différentes formules de dégustation est sympa aussi.

Nice trip to celler

The tour was well-designed and very informative; it compared well to other champagne tours we have joined. The Boizel champagnes we tasted were excellent and we bought two bottles. The Boizel team were all polite, efficient, and professional. We had a very pleasant visit.

Nous n'étions que 2 pour notre visite matinale. Très bon contact au téléphone, et lors de notre arrivée.
Explications très claires de la conférencière, elle connait son sujet sur le bout des doigts. Nous avons eu réponse à toutes nos questions, et la dégustation assortie des explication sur les différence entre les vins proposés nous a bien aidé.

The excellent guide told us everything about Boizel and the way the produce their champagnes. Great tasting afterwards with some good champagnes. Check at booking the several tasting options and the champagnes the offer.

Very easy to book. Very kind at welcome. Superb tour of the cellars and excellent tasting at the end. Maybe a little canapé would have been appreciated between or after the glasses.

We had a great guide in English, the tasting is in a well designed room and the information during the tour is easy to understand, interesting and a good duration.

Small champagne house Which is quote new but worth a visit to compair with the Other big ones. Very friendly lady who gave us the tour. Nice video. Good tour at the small caves. Nice tasting!
